She was admitted in 2009 and has more than 15 years' experience in criminal law. That includes several years at Victoria Legal Aid, where she rose to Senior Lawyer in the Indictable Crime team and handled complex matters with a focus on homicide. Your rights
Early advice protects your position, whether you are accused of an offence or reporting one.
Sarah Pratt & Associates recommends that an accused person always seek legal advice before being interviewed by police.
Police do not have a power to discuss matters with potential persons of interest. They may only do so where they have the power to arrest and interview.
Sarah Pratt & Associates recommends that complainants consider whether to seek advice before providing a statement to police.
